The one side carriageway of the eight-lane Hero Honda Chowk flyover has finally opened providing a relief to the commuters heading towards sector-10, Kadipur, Sultanpu, Jhajjar. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the flyover on Monday. The Union Planning and Urban Development MoS Rao Inderjeet Singh andstate PWD minister Rao Narbir Singh were also present in the function. People can now directly go for a straight route from Hero Honda Chowk without passing through the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza.
In the inauguration, Khattar said that it would ease the expressway’s biggest traffic snarls at National Highway-48. He also said, “At the same time vehicles going towards sector 10, Kadipur, Basai, Jhajjar and Sultanpur won’t have to cross Kherki Daula toll Plaza to take the U-turn. Similarly, commuters going to place like Jaipur, Ajmer, Ahmedabad and Mumbai would also benefit.”
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had proposed the 1.4 km long eight-lane flyover project to resolve the load of vehicles on the stretch and facilitate a smooth flow of long distance traffic. The flyover is a part of three-layered crossing involving the surface road, and an underpass under construction and the flyover at Hero- Honda Chowk. However, till now with only the four lane underpass at HH Chowk on Old Gurgaon, the road is still being built with the expectation of completion by the year-end.
Real estate sector also welcomes the inauguration of the HH Chowk flyover.
Ravish Kapoor , Director, Elan Group, said, “The opening of the Hero Honda Chowk flyover will be a boon for residents and developers as it would reduce congestion and cut travel time drastically. Commuters will get rid of problems like traffic snarls and water-logging. It will also boost connectivity to newer sectors of Gurgaon.”
"The much awaited eight-lane flyover is operational now; it is expected to reduce the volume of traffic on the busy Hero Honda Chowk. It will make commute between Jaipur and Delhi via Gurgaon smooth and hassle-free. Areas like New Gurgaon, Manesar, Bihawdi etc will be benefited with it as it will ensure better accessibility to the people residing there or planning to reside there," said Vineet Relia, Managing Director, SARE Homes..
The move will help commuting between Jaipur and Delhi, by tackling water logging at HH Chowk flyover via Gurgaon and Manesar. According to NHAI, all together 50,000 vehicles will daily, pass over the flyover. Though the Delhi-Jaipur side of the flyover was completed last month but it was used as the carriageway for Jaipur-bound traffic.
Rahul Singla ,Managing Director, Mapsko, said “Hero Honda Flyover will definitely ease the journey of commuters communicating through it; especially one who are travelling towards New Gurgaon, Manesar and Dwarka expressway. More and more people will be looking for their dream homes in Sector 82, 83 up to 91 now, as operating flyover will see people flocking towards New Gurgaon.”
In the inauguration, Haryana Chief Minister Khattar also said that the government now is more emphasizing on the development of Gurugram. He will alsoinaugurate two major projects for Gurugrammers on August 14th, 2017. He asserted, “Projects worth crores have been sanctioned and are in progress in the city. The state government is giving special emphasis on Gurgaon's development."
"This is a positive development. The flyover will improve connectivity and reduce travel time, giving further boost to New Gurgaon," said Anupam Varshney, sales and marketing head, Vatika Limited.
