Telangana Statehood: Who’s The Loser, KCR, Chandra Babu Naidu, YS Jagan. Telangana agitation has been the longest agitation subsisted in many fractions. The last phase of the protest had begun on November 28, 2013 with the indefinite hunger strike of Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR).
Telangana agitation has been the longest agitation subsisted in many fractions. The last phase of the protest had begun on November 28, 2013 with the indefinite hunger strike of Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). This segment of agitation was the crucial time in Telangana history. Almost all parties, which till then supported Telangana statehood, had changed their stances immediately after the announcement has come from the then Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram.
While the entire episode has lofted the position of few parties and leaders, most others have lost their reliability among the folks. Just for the sake of political mileage and benefits and with the postulation of Telangana never getting a separate statehood, many political parties acted as if they supported Telangana statehood. However, the CWC’s decision on July 30, last year has changed the political prospects of many leaders and parties.
Without a second thought, it is the Telugu Desam Party that lost integrity in the entire episode. Chandrababu Naidu, who ever remain as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (united) for the longest term, now, lost the trustworthiness among the people. A leader of his stature, instead of playing double role, should have taken a definite stand and could have worked sincerely towards the same. With his competence, he should have convinced the people of either region in a cordial way. In turn, the same might have been led for a befitting approval of the people of either region. Whatsoever the case may be, Chandrababu Naidu, the supremo of Telugu Desam Party is the greatest loser in the game.
