Actor and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan finally broke his silence on the controversial cash-for-note scam on Monday. He strongly opposed implementing section 8 of the AP Reorganisation act in Hyderabad. He also took time to react on the phone tapping issue. He sought CBI inquiry to bring out the truth in the alleged phone-tapping.
But one wonders why the Janasena chief did not take the name of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu even once during his entire speech.
Though Pawan advised the two Telugu CMs to sit together and sort out their issues, he did not take Chandrababu's name directly. Interestingly, Pawan started off his speech by thanking Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for selecting Andhra art director Anand Sai as the designer for the Yadadri Temple. But he did not refrain from criticizing the Telangana CM during his speech. He targeted KCR several times for creating tension between the two states while describing TDP as “Andhra parties”.
Supporting the TDP, Pawan termed phone tapping as a huge crime in a democracy like ours. Although Pawan had invited the media men to air his views on the controversial cash-for-vote scam, he ended his speech without questioning any politician involved in the scam that has further soured the relations between the two Telugu states. His speech did not touch upon the alleged audio tape containing the conversation between Chandrababu and nominated MLA Stephenson and the video footage of Revanth being caught red handed in the deal.
Pawan did not even give an opportunity to the media to question him. Pawan evaded questions and refused to comment on the murky deal by taking refuge in the fact that the matter is in courts. One noticeable thing was Pawan did not make any statements that embarrasses the TDP. Political analysts have inferred that Pawan still seems to enjoying his honeymoon period with TDP.
