Telangana Political JAC chairman Kodandaram on Tuesday appealed to the Seemandhra people to help in peaceful bifurcation of the State. At a meeting organised as part of the Mulki Martyrs Week, he urged pro-Seemandhra sections of the media to stop propagating ‘wrong’ news and strive for a peaceful transition. He called for efforts to help realise the Mulki martyrs’ aspirations, including Telangana. He recalled the killing of seven Mulkies in firing on September 3, 1952, during an agitation demanding jobs for locals.

Nizamabad: Telangana Political JAC chairman Kodandaram on Tuesday appealed to the Seemandhra people to help in peaceful bifurcation of the State. At a meeting organised as part of the Mulki Martyrs Week, he urged pro-Seemandhra sections of the media to stop propagating ‘wrong’ news and strive for a peaceful transition. He called for efforts to help realise the Mulki martyrs’ aspirations, including Telangana. He recalled the killing of seven Mulkies in firing on September 3, 1952, during an agitation demanding jobs for locals.
The TJAC chief urged the Centre to immediately implement its decision on statehood for Telangana. He said ‘shanti’ rallies would be organised in Karimanagar (on Sept.4) and Warangal and Nalgonda (Sept.5). A massive rally in Hyderabad from the City College to Indira Park would follow on September 7.
Aimed at self-rule
BJP legislator Nagam Janardhan Reddy told the meeting that the Telangana agitation was for securing self-rule. He wanted the Centre to immediately carve out a T state. He called for an end to ‘anti-Telangana propaganda’ in a section of the media.
