BJP Prime Ministerial face Narendra Modi could not have had it so bad. At a time when RSS top leadership landed in the capital to persuade BJP top-brass like L K Advani and Sushma Swaraj to accept the anointment of Modi as official BJP prime ministerial candidate, came the letter bomb. Suspended Gujarat DIG D G Vanzara delivered a damning indictment of both, Modi and his Man Friday Amit Shah.

Vanzara said, “It is everybody’s knowledge that this government has been reaping very rich political dividends, in the last 12 years, by keeping the glow of encounter cases alive in the sky of Gujarat, while otherwise, remaining in the low-profile and indifferent to the fate of jailed police officers.”

Gujarat Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil said, “Until now, Vanzara was a brave police officer, who did not lie.
