The Home Minister visited the Rajiv Griha Kalpa and consoled the kin of the victims. She appealed to people not to believe rumours and such propaganda would adversely affect the three thousand families living in the Rajiv Griha Kalpa. When asked it would have been better if more compensation was paid to the victims and their families, the Home Minister said that Rs. 1.5 lakh from the district collector's emergency fund was given to the families of victims. She said that she would strive to get more compensation after consulting with the chief minister.A She assured the families living in the colony to be peaceful and police patrolling would continue for their protection. The Home Minister said that the government would undertake repairs to the damaged houses in the blast and the government would help the victims' families to recover. She said that she had instructed the officials to list of the people who were staying in rented houses and how many were living in their own houses. "People who give their houses on rent should inform the colony association," she said. SP Rajakumari, District Libraries Association chairman Md Hafiz, former chairman Gudise Lakshman, Town Congress president Ramnivas Rathi, PCC secretary T Ramamohan Reddy, municipal vice-chairman Chigullapalli Ramesh Kumar, advocates Shukravardhan Reddy, P Govardhan Reddy, Venkatayya, Subhash Reddy, Prakash Reddy, Nagayya, Lakshmikanta Reddy and others accompanied the minister.
