Tirupati: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislator Harish Rao came down heavily on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu for the latter's comments on defections of a few legislators into the TRS. He advised the TDP chief to introspect on the root cause for the recent defections and to review the party's policies and perspectives.

He arrived at Tirupati on Tuesday as a member of the SC, ST Welfare Committee and spoke to the media on the recent political developments here on Tuesday. While speaking to media persons, he said, "A few TDP leaders are attracted towards TRS, because of its commitment towards the Telangana issue. There is no use to the TDP chief by criticising the TRS, instead of that he should rethink about his party's stand and policies, he suggested. Harish pointed out that if the leaders are happy with the TDP and its leadership, what is the necessity to exit from it?

Harish Rao said that there are differences among the TDP cadres and leaders about Chandrababu's padayatra and the recent comments by its senior leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao is the best example. Naidu has lost the confidence of people and his party's leaders, Harish Rao said. Earlier, Naidu had flayed the Left parties and was now shaking hands with the CPI.

Earlier, he had bitter experience with the NDA and BJP, but now speculations are rife in the TDP about an alliance once again with the saffron party, he said. On one hand, Naidu was criticising the Congress party and on the other he was supporting it indirectly and maintained a distance to the 'No Confidence Motion', Harish Rao lamented.

"We are not power mongers. We are not interested in the Chief Minister's post. We don't entertain unethical politics," he replied. The TRS is for Telangana right from its inception and no second thoughts in this aspect, he stressed. People of Telangana know very well about the commitment of TRS and betrayal of Congress on 'T' issue, he replied.
