A human being is constantly longing to be something more than what he is right now. If he knows only money, he is thinking of a little more money; if he knows power, a little more power; if he knows love, a little more love. There is something within him which will not settle for who he is.

A human being is constantly longing to be something more than what he is right now. If he knows only money, he is thinking of a little more money; if he knows power, a little more power; if he knows love, a little more love. There is something within him which will not settle for who he is.

In whatever way you know best, you are trying to be a little more. But if you apply your awareness and look at it, you can clearly see that you are not seeking money, property, love or pleasure; what you are seeking is expansion. Now how much expansion would settle you for good? If you look at this, you can see that you are looking for infinite expansion.
It is definitely time to stop and look at what is driving us like crazy, trying to expand all the time, to possess more and to do more because it is not the ‘things’ that we are after. There is something within you which does not like boundaries, which is looking for a boundless experience. It is wonderful that you are seeking the infinite itself but the problem is you are seeking it in installments.
If you go by installments, you can go through a lifetime and realise you are still not fulfilled. You can never reach the infinite by counting out 1 2 3; you will only become endless counting. Unless you use the right instrument, it will not happen. So if you try to become boundless through physical means, it will just become an endless process. It is the definition of a boundary which defines physicality. If you are looking for something boundless, it has to be non-physical.
The moment you seek that which is not physical, we say you are spiritual. Essentially, human beings are trying to have a larger slice of life. The only choice you have is whether you find conscious or unconscious expression to it. If you find unconscious expression to it, it gets labeled as materialism.
If you find conscious expression to it, we call it a spiritual process. When we say spiritual process, we are not talking about something up there or out there; we are talking about something within.
Before your life is over, what is within you, at least this piece of life you must know absolutely, isn't it? Otherwise, it is a wasted life. So a spiritual process means knowing this piece of life from its beginning to its end and not just living on the surface. When you experience only a part of yourself, every aspect of life becomes troublesome and torturous. But if you know this piece of life fully, then every moment of your life is a blissful process. -
