Bangalore: Raksha Bandhan, the festival of love between brothers and sisters, is celebrated across the country with full enthusiasm. A grand celebration of Raksha Bandhan festival “Raksha Bandhan Mahotsav” has been planned on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 1 PM – 5 PM at National College Grounds, Basavanagudi, Bangalore in the presence of Antarmana Muni Shri Prasanna Sagarji Maharaj & Muni Shri Piyush Sagarji Maharaj. To make the occasion even more special, we will witness a mass celebration where more than 400 sisters will be tying the sacred thread, Rakhi on her brother's wrist. Around 5000 people are expected to witness this historic moment.

Like any other festival, Raksha Bandhan has its unique significance. It is the celebration of the chaste bond of love amongst the siblings and fostering brotherhood.

“It is an occasion for us to dedicate ourselves to the well-being of women and in particular, the girl child. Traditional cultural values of respect for women need to be fully entrenched in our minds. May this unique festival inculcate in every member of our society the highest respect for women, as we strive collectively for the prosperity of our people & nation”, said Muni Shri Piyush Sagarji Maharaj.

The event has been organized by Tyagi Seva Samiti Trust, Karnataka Jain Association, Sri Chakreshwari Mahila Samaj & Sakal Jain Samaj. All are cordially invited to be a part of this historic celebration.
