Hyderabad, Sept 12: A dominating 153-run partnership for the second wicket between B Aprajith and S Anirudha helped Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) crush Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) in the final of the All India Coromandel King Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday. Tamil Nadu won by 86 runs.
Batting first in the rain-truncated and over-reduced engagement, Aprajith slammed 123 to guide Tamil Nadu to 294 for four wickets in the stipulated 50 overs innings. Anirudha played second fiddle with a useful 78. DDCA found the going tough with Rahil S Shah wreaking havoc while returning with an impressive five for 40 to have the opponents all out for 206.
Later, Maj Gen C A Pithawala, AC., VSM, GOC, Andhra Sub-Area distributed the prizes. TNCA was richer by Rs one lakh in prize-money while DDCA took home Rs 50, 000 foir their efforts. HCA President and Secretary, G Vinod and M V Sridhar, along with office-bearers were present.
