Andhra Pradesh men and women teams and Telangana men entered the semifinals of the 61st Senior National Ball Badminton Championship at the Pavilion Ground here on Wednesday. Telangana men will take on Maharashtra in the semifinals while Andhra Pradesh will face Indian Railway.

In the women semifinal, Andhra Pradesh runs into Karnataka and Tamil Nadu clash with Kerala for a place in the finals. In the men section, Andhra Pradesh registered a facile 2-0 win over Mumbai in the quarterfinal. Telangana men, who got-off to a good start suffered mid-game blues when they squandered the second set to Karnataka. However, the host rediscovered the winning tempo to clinch the decider.
In the other quarter final, Maharashtra, after a set down, defeated Puducherry 2-1 while Indian Railways beat Tamil Nadu 2-0. In women section, Andhra Pradesh defeated Mumbai 2-0 while Tamil Nadu beat Delhi 2-0. It was the same margin with which Karnataka defeated Maharashtra and Kerala downed Chhattisgarh 2-0.
