Paris: Two-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray set up a dream title clash with World No 1 Novak Djokovic in the French Open with a superlative display at Roland Garros on Friday.
The comeback specialist, was in his most combative spirit as he dethroned defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in the closely contested men singles semifinals.
Earlier, there was no stopping the Djokovic juggernaut as he sailed past a hapless Austrian Dominic Thiem 6-2, 6-1, 6-4. The Serb desperate for the biggest clay court trophy that is missing from his collection moved closer to affing it the kitty. Only Murray stands between him and his dream.
Djokovic, who will be playing his fourth Roland Garros final, wasted no time in the first two sets, proving too consistent for the erratic 13th seed. This will be Djokovic’s fourth Roland Garros final.
