Ahmedabad: Japan recorded their second successive win while defeating Poland 33-22 in a Group ‘B’ match to take a step closer to the semifinals of the ongoing 2016 Kabaddi World Cup here on Wednesday. Captain Masayuki Shimokawa led from the front and scored seven points as Japan maintained a 100 per cent record even as Poland remained winless.

Japan leapfrogged Kenya in the points table to be second in Group B with 10 points from two games. The Asian team opened its account with a bonus point in the second minute while Poland leveled the score in third minute after two empty raids. It was a cagey start from both teams and raiders struggled to get into the game and Japan led 2-1 after minutes. Poland had a slew of empty raids and Japan capitalized on it.
