Hyderabad: On the face of it, the beleaguered Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has earned breathing time with the elevation of incumbent Vice-President Narender Goud as its interim President.It was a decision that was okayed in the EC meeting held in the city on Saturday.

However, some wags are wondering the absence of four members. It is learnt that Chitti Sridhar, RM Bhaskar and Babu Rao Sagar, who had got an High Court order against their suspension and were allowed to attend the SGM on November 20, were not informed about the meeting. Another Vice-President Prakash Chand Jain, who was suspended last month, was kept away from the ‘crucial’ meeting.

The other interesting development was that after the Ranga Reddy court had appointed an Advocate Commissioner/Returning Officer to conduct elections to the HCA, Rajeev Reddy sent a notice to all the clubs and began functioning from his office at the RGIC Stadium.

Meanwhile, Association Secretary, K John Manoj, said the elevation of Goud was in compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court order calling for the implementation of the reforms suggested by the Lodha Committee.
