Anantapur: In a major endorsement of their talent and a sign of the emergence of regional talent, The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) Juniors romped home in the Triangular T20 cricket series for the Father Vincent Ferrer Trophy at RDT Sports Center here late Saturday evening.

What makes the triumph more impactful is that the other two teams in contention, host RDT Sports Center Academy and Dev Cricket Academy from Bangalore had seasoned campaigners in their ranks.

TCA, inspired by a fine all-round performance by man of the finals Shubham Srivas (26 and 2/25), defeated RDT Academy by 17 runs in the finals to emerge on top and announce their arrival in inter-State competition.

Others clinching individual honours were the champion outfit’s Srikar Reddy (best batsman and player of the series) and Puneeth from Dev Cricket Academy, who took the best bowler honours.

Brief scores: TCA Juniors 142 for five wickets (Sai Kishore 53, Shubham Srivas 26, C Sai Kartik Rao 2/29) bt Anantapur Sports Academy (RDT) 125 for seven wickets (R Kartik Rao 33, Praveen Kumar Reddy 27, Praful 2/24, Shubham Srivas 2/25).
