The 11th edition of Indian Premier League is ongoing, and as always fans are cheering for their favorite team day and night. The main highlight of this season is a return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals franchises joining the list of IPLteams in 2018 after two years.
With eight of the most active teams with players from around the world competing against each other, IPL fans are very much interested in knowing whether the defending champions Mumbai Indians will be able to retain their trophy or if any other team will take their place.
As already 40 matches out of this season’s total 60 matches are over, it is time to start comparing the performance of all IPL teams and find out the best team that will most likely lift the IPL trophy this year.
So today we are here with the list of best teams of IPL 2018 that have a chance of winning IPL this year.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad is one among the top 3 teams in IPL 2018 so far. Being led by Kane Williamson, Sunrisers Hyderabad is the only team in this IPL season to have a non-Indian captain. The team has so far played 11 matches and has lost only 2.
Apart from Kane Williamson, the SRH team have world-class players like Alex Hales, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yusuf Pathan, and Shakib Al Hasan. The batting lineup of Sunrisers Hyderabad is one of the team’s strong points.
If won, this won’t be the first time SRH will win the IPL title, as they had previously won IPL 2016.
Chennai Super Kings
Coming after being banned for two years, Chennai Super Kings is back in IPL 2018. If won, the IPL 2018 title will help the third win for CSK, after winning two IPL titles consecutively in 2010 and 2011.
Out of the 12 matches played so far, the team has lost only 4 and talking about the wins, CSK has won against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and SRH.
Team CSK is led by ex-Indian national cricket team captain MS Dhoni, and the team features some of the best batsmen and all-rounders including Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shane Watson.
Kings XI Punjab
Kings XI Punjab also makes it to the top teams of IPL 2018 list with a chance of winning. In 11 matches played, the team has won 6 of them and also ranks among the top 3 IPL teams as of now.
The Kings XI Punjab team is led by R. Ashwin and has one of the best Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh in it. Other key players in the Punjab franchise include Chris Gayle, Karun Nair, and David Miller. Yuvraj Singh flopped with the bat in this IPL so far but you never know when he will shine back to help team winning this IPL 2018 title.
Kings XI Punjab has never won an IPL season so far, and it seems like this year will finally break the evil spell for them.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders went from being known as “the team owned by SRK” in the initial seasons to become one of the most influential cricket teams in IPL.
Even before the beginning of this IPL season, KKR made news when they decided to let go of Gautam Gambhir, who led the team in winning two IPL titles previously, in 2012 and 2014. This year’s KKR team is led by Dinesh Karthik. Not just Gautam Gambhir, but KKR has also lost Yusuf Pathan and Manish Pandey from their team this season.
Nonetheless, KKR still has some solid players in their lineup like Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, Andre Russell, Cameron Delport, and Mitchell Johnson. Out of 12 matches played so far, KKR has managed to win 6 of them.
Sudden wins are not something new for KKR, and that is what makes them capable of winning the IPL 2018 season.
