Srikakulam: Minister for Medical and Health Services Kondru Murali Mohan said here on Friday that nine per cent of the corporate hospitals were benefited through Aarogyasri scheme.A He inaugurated along with Union Minister Killi Krupa Rani and Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao the new buildings for house surgeons and auditorium constructed at the RIMS medical A college here.
When asked about the corporate hospitals' contention that payments under Aarogyasri to their hospitals were not sufficient, the minister said that the Aarogyasri was started with Rs 70 crore and the last year's payment was Rs 1400 crore.
He said that the government was spending Rs 2,000 crore on the State government employees and the retired personnel. In fact, the corporate hospitals were benefitting from serving them, he said. He said that one hundred hospitals had applied afresh to include them in the Aarogyasri.
The payment to the corporate hospitals was more than satisfactory and some of the hospitals had admitted to that effect. However, some hospitals raised this issue and he would review the matter with the officials soon. Dharmana Prasada Rao also spoke.
