Revenue employees stage novel protest

Srikakulam: Revenue employees here on Saturday got themselves tonsured as part of the protest against bifurcation of the State. Earlier, they took out a massive rally from Seven Roads Junction and culminated at Potti Sriramulu statue. Later, they formed a human chain. Animal husbandry department officials took out a rally raising slogans against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. Women cleansed Potti Sriramulu statue with milk.

The agitators lashed out at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for not taking any action in this regard. Traders too took out a massive rally from Seven Roads Junction to Potti Sriramulu statue where they formed a human chain and cleansed the statue with milk. A rally was taken out under the aegis of Private Medical Practitioners’ Association Municipal employees called upon the people by beating the drum to join the movement.
