Srikakulam: Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, the YSR Congress Party leader Sharmila accused him of sleeping while the Central government hatched a conspiracy to divide the State for gaining a few seats to install Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister.

Addressing a huge rally at Rajam town in Srikakulam district on Monday, she said the present government was breaking the back of the common man by increasing the prices of all essential commodities besides the prices of cooking gas and electricity charges.

Sharmila received a rousing reception when her Bus Yatra entered the district from Vizianagaram district. The leaders of YSRCP and common people came on to the streets to listen to her. She said the Chief Minister and the ministers hailing from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions at the Centre mortgaged the self-respect of the people to the rulers in Delhi. The YSRCP leader alleged that the Telugu Desam Party leader Chandrababu Naidu was duping the people by giving a letter to the Centre and declaring himself in favour of separation of Telangana on one hand and telling the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema area that he was in favour of a united State.

She challenged him to withdraw the letter and come clean on the issue without duplicity. Sharmila promised the government employees, who were fighting for the people, that they would be paid their full wages when the YSRCP would come to power in the next election and besides a month’s salary as bonus.
