Shakti Gets His Due!. Shakti Arora has been one of the luckiest actors to have portrayed various shades as an actor and he was quite happy with it too.

Finally all the hardwork pays as Shakti Arora who was earlier seen in various shows finally gets to play main lead in the latest show ‘Meri Aashqui Tum Hi Ho’ on Colors

Shakti AroraShakti Arora has been one of the luckiest actors to have portrayed various shades as an actor and he was quite happy with it too. He played prominent roles in shows like Baa, Bahoo Aur Baby, Sanskaar Laxmi, Pavitra Rishta, etc., however, the main lead role eluded him for long and that regret too has been taken care of with him getting a dream launch in ‘Meri Aashqui Tumse Hi’, Ekta Kapoor’s new love story on Colors. Playing the humble down to earth guy Ranveer in the show his eyes do much of the talking as he portrays one sided love. You can feel his happiness as he says, “I am in a happy state of mind now but there was a time not so long back when I felt I was not getting my due. I have done negative roles, I have entered the show mid-way as a lead and what not but the solo main lead was a dream until this show happened. I always felt I can carry off a show on my shoulders but never got the opportunity to do so, I felt maybe it was my fault so I stopped taking other roles till I got what I wanted. In fact I did not want to do ‘Pavitra Rishta’ too but the Balaji team convinced me but I realised I was wrong when I got immense recognition from that show.”
“There was a phase when I went on a no-signing spree but kept myself busy with doing episodes, anchoring and hosting live events and reality shows as well as corporate ads. I guess the struggle and hardwork kept me rooted and down to earth,” says Shakti who is also yesteryear actor Chandrashekhar’s grandson and has seen Bollywood biggies right from his childhood days.
All the patience worked in Shakti’s favour when he bagged the current show, “I guess working with Balaji earlier I had an edge over others but I had to give an audition just like others and even for the look test there were six others who were finalised so even at that juncture I thought I may not get the role but I did.” So, what does he think was the ultimate clincher? “Well the Balaji team knew that I was a good actor as well as a no nonsense person who did not throw any tantrums but have always been good and cordial with everyone around so that was one thing. Also the fact that they needed a guy who looked poor now as well as rich later when the character grows bigger…” says Shakti who is enjoying the compliments for the show at the moment.
In the show Shakti plays a boy who is in one sided love but in real life he is happy in a relationship with actor Neha Saxena and the two are planning to tie the knot this year. Has he ever experienced one sided love? “Yes, when I was a teenager around 13-14 years of age I was a secret admirer but never had the courage to express my feelings and after that I was careful not to fall for one sided love. I am now happy to have Neha by my side who understands me completely. We plan to get married by the end of this year, probably December whenever I have time off from the show. Neha knows about it and is happy for me since she always felt that my talent was not being appreciated and I was made for better things.”
Apart from his love for acting Shakti is a trained and professional tarot card reader, “I was always interested in spiritual things and when I met people who could train me in Tarot reading I decided to learn and had a clear knack of practicing it so I did,” concludes Shakti as he keeps himself grounded with the simple things he likes in life.
