Whatsapp has cleared the rumors suggesting that the company was banning users permanently who continued using third party apps. The company's spokesperson has confirmed that the company is not banning the users permanently but if the users keep using third party clients they will be continuously banned till they stop using it. Earlier users who were using third party clients were given 24 hour clock warning. Such users were not permanently banned but regained access to their account after 24 hours.

In January, the company had asked its users to download the app from official website or app stores and not use the third party apps. This step by the company ensures privacy and security for its users. Users who have been using such third party clients will be able to use official Whatsapp app only when they uninstall the third party apps. However, they will not be permanently banned from the app.
