R. Narayana Murthy: Impeding TV9 Channel in Telangana a Justified Move. R. Naryana Murty, an actor-director of Tollywood, said that it was a justified move taken by the MSOs to block the TV9 channel in Telangana.
Hyderabad: R. Naryana Murty, an actor-director of Tollywood, said that it was a justified move taken by the MSOs to block the TV9 channel in Telangana. He was addressing the media about his Rajyadhikaram movie to be released shortly. He replied to one of the questions posed by a reporter and opined as above. He said that the programmes being telecasted in the media should make the people think and turn them to be the wise people, but should not make a mockery of the culture, dialect and heritage of the people.
It is worth recollecting that Going on with the alleged attacking of the Telangana language in its specific dialect and for insulting the Telangana State Assembly and its legislators besides broadcasting spiteful half-truths against the Telangana government, the Telangana Cable TV operators have decided to close down the transmission of TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy channels in Telangana state for an indefinite period.
All the Cable Television operators under the shade of Telangana MSO Association gathered together in Hyderabad on Monday and decided to block the mentioned two Telugu channels - TV9 and ABN.
Later, they urged all the media organisations not to adopt an anti-Telangana stand for giving positive coverage to AP. They said they have no objection if media groups present facts, but they would not tolerate false misinformation against Telangana.
Subhash Reddy, the president of MSOs, said that both these channels have already been blocked in some areas and the shutdown has been extended to the entire state with an immediate effect on Monday.
It is evident that there was a special mention about the alleged malicious transmission of propaganda by KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana, in the state assembly during the just concluded assembly session.
