Hyderabad figs out for Ramzan

Hyderabad: Only three days are left for the beginning of the holy month of Ramzan. With the mouth-watering aroma, the air in the twin cities has already become thick for obvious reason of streets getting filled up with the Haleem stalls. There is plenty in store for Hyderabadis to cater to their soul and taste buds.

Varying from the big restaurants to the street hawkers, everyone would like to see their pockets filled with more bucks. Of course, all eyes are on the dish of the month - Haleem. In fact, there is no connection between Ramzan month and Haleem. Nevertheless, the two go hand in hand. The cumbersome preparation of Haleem makes all restaurants to keep them busy.

Adding loveliness to the entire show, even the GHMC is taking interest in the aromatic dish this season. On Thursday, it convened a meeting of the hoteliers and insisted on strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation and quality. Of course, the civic body plans to give away the best Haleem-maker award at the end of the month.

The increased prices of all sorts of commodities would definitely increase the price of Haleem in this season. But, who would restrain themselves from the delicious seasonal dish. If at all the cost is to be cut, it could be done otherwise, but, not by letting the season without tasting Haleem.
