Hyderabad: The GHMC employees went on indefinite strike from midnight on Wednesday in protest against the GHMC’s attitude in the milieu of salary hike. As many as 7500 employees are involved in this strike.
On the same matter, the employees went on strike even before for 5 days. The then government announced an IR of 27%. But, the same was given only to a few sanitary employees neglecting others. After the state bifurcation, the matter was brought before the authorities of GHMC with a demand to take their matter to the state government. Nevertheless, the matter remained unresolved, forcing the employees to go on strike.
