The Monday speech of Jairam Ramesh in Rajya Sabha was more or less intended to take the credit by including the matter of submerging the villages of the Polavaram project into the Congress Party’s account.
He reiterated that the decision of including the submerging villages of the Polavaram project was taken by the cabinet of previous UPA government. In his speech Jairam Ramesh said that Polavaram to Andhra Pradesh was like just Hyderabad to Telangana stating that Polavaram was a poignant issue to Andhra Pradesh people. He also appealed the Andhra Pradesh and Union governments for the support to the submerging villages to console the affected people from the other end.
