Nizamabad: Police took Koteswara Rao, who is working as assistant director in Agriculture Department at Bhainsa in Adilabad district, into custody on the charges of collecting Rs 62 lakh from security staff of the same department to make them permanent employees. Police have found in their investigation that Koteswara Rao and his accomplice were collecting money from security personnel by assuring them that they would be made as regular employees in the Agriculture Department.

Sources in police department said that Rs 7.18 lakh were collected from security staff working in Nizamabad, Adilabad and Karimnagar districts and the remaining amount was collected from the districts of Andhra Pradesh. After long wait, victims tried to contact Koteswara Rao as their services were not regularized. Victims said that he was evading them for some time. They lodged a complaint with 3-town police station in Nizamabad against Koteswara Rao. Police are investigating.
