VH demands Ponnala’s ouster, Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao demanded the Congress high command to change the state party president if the party has to be revived in Telangana.

Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao demanded the Congress high command to change the state party president if the party has to be revived in Telangana.

At a press conference, he said the high command should consult all the State leaders and make effective changes so that the TPCC can give a tough fight to TRS and ensure that it keeps its promises.

Rao complained that the Central leadership was still being influenced by the elements from AP, even though the Telangana was now a separate State.

“I told the AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh the need for strengthening Congress in Telangana, which could only happen with a democratic decision making, lest the party workers get demoralised further,” the Rajya Sabha MP said.

He ruled out the possibility of him being one of the candidates for the top post in the party. The leader demanded all the four leaders from central leadership Jairam Ramesh, Kuntiya, Koppula Raju, besides Digvijay Singh to discuss on how to revive the party in the State.
