Perhaps the school is the only institutions to have solar power and enjoy uninterrupted supply without any power-cuts. Its success is attributed to the determination of both students and residents not to have load-shedding problems in view of the precarious power situation in the State.

A lot of effort has gone into the success of the school in installing solar system after the government released Rs.14 lakh for the construction of the new building. Villagers did not want to involve contractors and others in the work. They formed a committee and approached the collector, joint collector and Rajiv Vidya Mission with a plea that they be allowed to take up the construction.

After the officials agreed, the committee completed the building and managed to save Rs 1.2 lakh of the sanctioned amount. It added Rs.80,000 donated by a philanthropist. With Rs.2 lakh it installed the solar energy project. As a result, the school enjoys AC facility and spacious classrooms. The institution is competition with private schools in securing admissions.
