He pointed out that in near future Hyderabad would be the most happening city in the entire country with ITIR project, where several MNCs and industries showed interest to invest in the State in view of the unique industrial policy of the government.

A delegation comprising VB Gadgil, chief executive and managing director, L &T (HMR project) and Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

KCR told them with the increasing population of the capital, transport sector would play a key role in the city’s development and HMR, especially, would become very crucial in serving the transport needs of the denizens. In this context, there was need to expand Metro Rail project from the present 72 km to 200 km, he stressed. He directed HMR officials to expedite works so as to inaugurate Nagole-Mettuguda stretch by Ugadi-2015 as planned earlier. If required, traffic diversions or complete halting of the traffic on the stretch should be done to complete works in time, he said. KCR felt legal issues or payment of compensation should be addressed immediately so that project works could be completed in stipulated time.
