Bhadrachalam: ITDA Regional Director Dr Nageswara Rao, Zonal Malaria officer Dr Jayasri, Additional DMHO Dr Pullaiah and District Malaria officer Rambabu visited the fever-hit Gundala Colony in Bhadrachalam mandal on Monday and conducted a house-to-house survey to enquire about people suffering from viral fevers.

They interacted with patients suffering from dengue and inquired about their health condition. They urged the local health staff to provide proper treatment to the patients. They were also asked to supply chlorine tables to every house.

The villagers were advised to keep the surroundings clean and prevent stagnation of water in pits. The health workers were asked to provide the phone number of the local ANM to every household. Every panchayat office should be provided with the phone number of the medical officer and phone numbers of DMHO and ANM.

The panchayat staff was advised to observe every Friday as a dry day. Following a plea from the local people, the IMA and DMHO were requested to ensure that the private clinics were kept open on Sundays. The ITDA Regional Director, District Malaria officer and Additional DMHO visited the Bhadrachalam Area Hospital and enquired about the medical services being extended to the patients at the hospital. The team visited Gundala Colony and the Area Hospital following the directions of ITDA Project officer Divya.
