Metro Stations to Have Foolproof Security. Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, C V Anand, announced that a coordination committee comprising of representatives from Hyderabad/Cyberabad Commissionerates, Hyderabad Metro Rail and LTMRHL had been set up to finalise security arrangements, creation of separate a police station and additional security force for dealing with the crimes related to Hyderabad Metro Rail Transport System.

Hyderabad: Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, C V Anand, announced that a coordination committee comprising of representatives from Hyderabad/Cyberabad Commissionerates, Hyderabad Metro Rail and LTMRHL had been set up to finalise security arrangements, creation of separate a police station and additional security force for dealing with the crimes related to Hyderabad Metro Rail Transport System.
The security arrangements are being finalised in consultation with the Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police with guidance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Retired senior IPS officer and counter terrorism expert K C Reddy presented a report in a meeting held with MD, HMR N V S Reddy, Security Experts and L&T officials.
High quality security arrangements will be provided at all Metro Stations and foolproof security will be in place which includes access controlled passenger entry with baggage scanning, CCTV cameras and other surveillance. NVS Reddy said that passenger security would be the top most priority of HMR and it would be ensured through access control and installation of CCTVs at all stations, sensors and alarms for monitoring of unmanned areas, checking and frisking of passengers at concourse gates, installation of intrusion detection systems, on board surveillance through video recording in trains, anti-sabotage checking etc.
Security arrangements for Metro Rail stations, parking and circulation areas, viaduct and track, trains, depot areas, vital installations and machinery, Operations Control Centre (OCC) etc. were discussed at the meeting. The meeting also discussed security arrangements that are already in place at different Metro Rail Systems like Delhi, Bengaluru etc. The CCTV system will cover areas like platforms, concourse, ticketing, parking, skywalks, viaduct, entry /exits to stations, vicinity areas, inside and outside saloon of the trains.
Addl. Commissioner of Police, (Crimes & SIT) Sandeep Sandilya, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Anjani Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, (Law & Order) Gangadhar and other senior government officials attended the meeting.
