Hyderabad: Telangana State Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday set a new target for the voters in Medak.

He rebutted the criticism that the TRS government had failed to implement its electoral promises. Addressing a public meeting at Narsapur, Rao said the people should make a right choice while exercising their franchise. The election should be a challenge for the people who had reposed faith in him by making him win with a huge margin of 3.9 lakh votes. Since the seat had fallen vacant following his resignation, Rao said the voters should this time break the record and see that the TRS candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy wins with a margin of 5 lakh votes.

“If the margin is reduced or the party candidate loses, the rival parties will make a big issue out of it and will say that KCR has lost popularity in his own district. Such a malicious campaign could cause road blocks in the large number of welfare activities the government had lined up,” he said. KCR launched a vitriolic attack against TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah, whom he accused of doing nothing for farmers in his whole life. The party which had done nothing for the farmers had shamelessly released a CD and a document on the 100-day governance of TRS government, he added.
