Hyderabad: Rs 5 meal was launched at GHMC head office in Hyderabad by the Hare Krishna Movement – Hyderabad, an initiative of ISKCON-Bangalore that pioneered the world’s largest mid-day meal program under the banner of Akshaya Patra to feed over 14 lakh underprivileged children everyday across the country.

The Hare Krishna Movement -Hyderabad chapter is currently feeding about 65,000 school children & 25,000 Anganwadi beneficiaries everyday as part of mid-day meal scheme of the Govt. of Telangana under our flagship program Akshaya Patra and under its program titled “Bhojanamrita” - A Free Lunch Program in Hospitals, we are providing Free Lunch every day to the many Hospitals in Telangana and also we partner with the Govt. to provide a subsidized meal under “Subhojanam” to feed farmers & hamalis at Bowenpally market yard.
