Will Ponnala continue in TPCC Chief Post?

The entire blame for the utter defeat of the Congress Party in the general elections was affiliated to Ponnala Lakshmaiah, the Telangana PCC Chief. Although it has been four months that the general elections were finished and the results are out, the blame game inside the Congress Party could not reach to the climax. More or less all fingers point at Ponnala Lakshmaiah, the present PCC Chief, for the failure of Congress Party in the general elections. Adding fuel to the fire, the prestigious Medak by-election has also poured water on the hopes of the Congress Party. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy was rather the best choice, the party had. The splendid victory of Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, the TRS candidate over her, brings back the future of Ponnala as the PCC Chief.

According to sources, winning Medak by-election for the Congress Party was rather a crucial issue to prove his ability as the PCC Chief. Ponnala is not only facing internal opposition over his PCC Chief Post, but also enjoys the support from many leaders, reportedly.

Previously, the Congress Party High Command had listened to the versions of many senior leaders to arrive at a conclusion. If the buzz is to be believed, the Congress Party High Command has been trying to fill the vacuum created by the loss of general elections and by-election at least by winning the looming GHMC polls.

Also, it was learnt in the past that many of the senior leaders have approached the Congress Party High Command to seek the removal of Ponnala Lakshmaiah from the PCC Chief’s Post, blaming him for the failure in the recent general elections. Nevertheless, the Congress Party High Command has not considered the matter. Now, losing by-election in Medak may turn an add on advantage to all those who eye the TPCC post to seek reconciliation by the high command.
