Tummala calls on KCR

Hyderabad: Front-runner for Minister post Tummala Nageswara Rao met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at his Camp Office on Friday. This meeting assumes significance in wake of speculations about cabinet expansion around Diwali festival. Tummala’s name is being heard prominently as one of the six candidates to get a berth.
According to sources, KCR is learnt to have enquired about portfolio preferences of the Khammam leader who expressed his reluctance to take up Home portfolio. He is understood to have shown interest in Power or Roads and Buildings or Panchayat Raj departments. Sources close to Tummala sought to downplay the meeting stating that appointment for this was taken two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Minster hopefuls within the party are keeping their fingers crossed with news of a cabinet expansion doing rounds for the last 24 hours. While four names-Tummala, Koppula Eashwar, Laxma Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao seems to be finalised, the suspense is on the remaining two berths.
Konda Surekha, Kova Lakshmi, A Chandu Lal, Gampa Govardhan, Vinay Bhaskar, V Srinivas Goud among a few are pinning hopes of getting a call from Chief Minister in this regard in the next few days.
