Hyderabad: An inquiry was launched into the suicides by farmers by the Telangana government. Various suicides are reported from various districts in the past four months.

District-wise details of the farmer suicides are to be submitted to the chief minister. Chief Minister KCR directed chief secretary Rajiv Sharma to inquire whether farmers committed suicide due to crop failure on account of deficit rainfall and lack of power.



The families of farmers will be compensated by the government based on the enquiry report. TRS party is denying the 350 suicides have been reported in the last four months.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat last week, the Chief Minister said, “It’s wrong to say that hundreds of farmers committed suicide in Telangana due to the failure of crops.
