Religious fervour marks Godavari Maha Harathi

Godavari Maha Harathi was grandly performed at Dharmapuri, popularly known as Dakshina Kasi, on Sunday in the auspicious Karthika Maasam.
Dharmapuri (Karimnagar): Godavari Maha Harathi was grandly performed at Dharmapuri, popularly known as Dakshina Kasi, on Sunday in the auspicious Karthika Maasam.
Large number of devotees gathered on the banks of the river right from early morning. Vedic pundits conducted a Homam at 12.00 noon. Devotees participated in Homam and fulfilled their vows to the River Goddess. Bhajan and cultural programmes were organised at the dais at 2.00 p.m.
The cultural programmes enthralled the audience. BJP national general secretary Muralidhar Rao, Gorakhpur MP Adityanath and Vedic pundits from Varanasi participated in the ritual.
Hundreds of devotees participated in the Godavari Maha Harathi programme.
