Hyderabad: Bitter acrimony between the two Telugu States took a new turn on Monday with Telangana Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy casting aspersions on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and calling him “a 420.”

Reddy made this shocking remark during the question hour in the Legislative Council while replying to a question on unorganized workers in Telangana.

When the members wanted to know whether the government would probe into the status of the one percent cess that was collected from the builders in the united State and whether it would be recovered and used for the welfare of construction workers, the Home Minister said that the cess was not paid by the builders who were in collusion with civic officials during the previous regimes. TRS member Bhanu Prasad who also referred to Naidu as '420' alleged that the Naidu government had indulged in embezzlement activities in a secret manner.

In his reply, Naini assured the House that a probe would be conducted into the trail of these funds and that they would be recovered promptly.
