Days of Unlimited Free ATM Usage Over. Beginning December 1, 2014, more than five monthly ATM transaction will cost over Rs 20 per transaction and a non-financial transaction will cost over Rs 8.5 as penalty.
Hyderabad: Beginning December 1, 2014, more than five monthly ATM transaction will cost over Rs 20 per transaction and a non-financial transaction will cost over Rs 8.5 as penalty. The RBI had on November 1 allowed banks to curb free ATM transaction service in metro cities and charge beyond a certain limit.
Only five free transactions (inclusive of non-financial transactions) per month are permitted for the savings bank account holders for use of own bank ATMs. The six cities, where the new ATM rules will be enforced, are Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The number of free ATM transactions for SB account customers at other bank ATMs has been reduced from 5 to 3 per month.
