Hyderabad: Telangana Panchayat Raj and IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on Tuesday said getting safe drinking water was the primary right of people as it was just in the case of the right to education and the right to information.

Laying foundation stone for the State government's prestigious Drinking Water Grid, along with Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy, at Choutuppal Market Yard here on Tuesday, Rama Rao said the State government was committed to rooting out the menace of the fluoride problem in Nalgonda district.

“Our aim is to provide succour to the people facing acute drinking water problem in three years,” he said, adding that the CM himself would launch the water grid works soon from Nalgonda district. The government would provide safe drinking water to the people of Nalgonda in the first phase and extend the same to other districts later, the Minister added.
