Khammam: District Collector Dr K Ilambarithi said on Tuesday that India can become corruption-free society if people’s representatives and employees work with commitment by giving high priority to transparency and accountability. He gave a call to voluntary organisations, employees, people’s representatives and all sections of people to strive to build society free from corruption.

The ACB Department organised valedictory function of Anti-Corruption Week celebrations on the premises of Collectorate. District officials, employees of Collectorate and students in large numbers have participated in the celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, Ilambarithi said that employees would have opportunities either to choose good or bad in the administration. “If employees choose to do good for people then better administration is possible which would lead to accelerated development,” he added.

Ilambarithi said that India can become a developed nation on par with other developed countries if the benefits of government welfare schemes reached the beneficiaries. He asked the students to create awareness among parents and people residing near their houses about the ill-effects of corruption.

District Collector opined that India can emerge a super power if corruption is eliminated from the country. Later, he administered a pledge to the employees and students that they would become partners in building corruption-free society.

Dr Ilambarithi handed over appreciation certificates for winners of elocution competitions. Additional Joint Collector K Babu Rao, DRO Shiva Srinivas, DEO Ravindranath Reddy and other officials were present.
