Hyderabad: If Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has his way, four state-of-the-art auditoriums would be built in government land in front of Indira Park. These would be part of the world-class convention centre to be named Telangana Kala Bharathi.
At a review meeting regarding overall development of Hyderabad held here on Thursday, KCR said the city would be revamped along the lines of the famous Istanbul city in Turkey retaining historical importance. Ministers, senior officials and noted architect from Mumbai, Hafeez of Hafeez Contractors attended the meeting.
KCR suggested the architect to design the proposed convention centre comprising four auditoriums of different capacities to accommodate crowd of 600 to nearly 3000 people. Even near Ravindra Bharathi, an exclusive structure to highlight history and traditions of Telangana should be built, he felt.
KCR said that previous governments dominated by Seemandhra politicians treated Hyderabad as a real estate paradise ignoring its historical background over the years. The fact that a cement structure called Hi-tec city was encircled in Hyderabad logo ignoring the historic Charminar monument proved the indifference of Seemandhra leaders towards Hyderabad, KCR charged.
