Hyderabad: Following Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s decision to expand the cabinet on Tuesday, lobbying has intensified for berths in the cabinet. On the other hand, dissension has also come to the fore.

Those who have been flag-bearers like Koppula Eshwar are unhappy that they have been ignored and instead the Chief Minister is accommodating the lateral entrants. Expressing his dissatisfaction over not being accommodated in the cabinet, Eshwar on Sunday decided not to accept the Chief Whip’s post.

Eshwar held a meeting with his party workers on Sunday morning and told them that he was disappointed over the manner in which he had been ignored and decided not to accept the post. Mala Mahanadu leaders said they were expecting he would be made Deputy Chief Minister or at least a Minister. They would hold dharnas across the State on Monday.

As the news about Eshwar’s dissension was played in the media, Panchayat Raj and IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, who is now in Dubai, is said to have called up Eshwar. Later, KCR also spoke to Eshwar and explained to him why he could not be accommodated in the Cabinet. Eshwar was said to have told KCR that he was not willing to accept the post of Chief Whip and would rather continue to be the flag-bearer of the party.
