Driver-cum-Owner cab scheme-II from today, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will launch the second phase of Driver-cum-Owner cab scheme of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Friday.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will launch the second phase of Driver-cum-Owner cab scheme of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Friday.

The Chief Minister will hand over as many as 303 vehicles to the unemployed youth as per the scheme at an event to be held at Necklace Road on Friday morning. Of 303 vehicles, 105 would be engaged in GHMC for an amount of Rs 25,000 per month and 198 will be hired by operators like Dot Cabs, Sky Cabs, Green Cabs, One Cabs & OLA Cabs, who offered to give business of Rs 45,000 to Rs 60,000 per month.

The beneficiaries include 115 SCs, 66 STs, 29 minorities; 73 BCs and 20 persons of other backward castes. Maruti Swift Dzire cars are being given as self-employment opportunity to the youth and loans have been provided by State Bank of Hyderabad, MCTB branch. Maruti Suzuki is providing a special discount of Rs 76,000 on vehicles costing Rs 7,04,000. A subsidy of 35 per cent has been provided to SC and ST beneficiaries under SCSP/TSP component of Industrial Investment Promotion Policy (IIPP) 2010-15.
