Hyderabad: Bringing a complete twist to the ongoing controversy over the untimely demise of Tollywood music director Chakri, his mother G Vidyavathi lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police against Charkri’s widow Gilla Sravani on Sunday. She raised doubts over Chakri’s death and expressed mistrust on Sravani.

In her complaint to the Jubilee Hills police, Vidyavathi suspected a foul play in Chakri’s death. She also sought action against Sravani. Earlier, Sravani approached the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) and tried to file a harassment case against her in-laws, but the SHRC did not take the complaint.

On Saturday, she lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police station against eight of her family members. She alleged that Chakri’s family members were harassing her. She claims her in-laws moved into her house ever since her husband’s death. As per Sravani’s claims, Chakri’s family took away the death certificate on the second day after Chakri died but had not handed it over to her.

Based on the complaint, police filed cases under Sections 498 (dowry harassment) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) on Chakri's mother, Vidyavathi, Chakri’s brother Mahith Narayana, other family members - Vanidevi, Lakshman Rao, Krishna Priya and Nageshwar Rao.

According to Sravani, on the fateful day of December 14, Chakri came home late at night at 1.30 and said he had food at mother’s place. He expressed that his people had more love on his property than him. He shared to wife that they were eyeing his building in Somajiguda and that they wanted him (Chakri) to write it in their name.
