Nalgonda: The Minister for Education G Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday felt that the government may take some harsh decisions in the interests of the people and make the dream of turning Telangana into golden state. Speaking at District Standing Council meeting of Telangana Non- Gazetted Officers Union here, Jagadish Reddy recalled that majority of students of government-run schools came from middle class and weaker sections.
The government had earmarked Rs 10,000 crores for education in the budget, he said. Now it was time that firm decisions was taken to improve the quality of education in government schools and mould the government school and colleges students to compete in global job market.
Stating that TNGOs had played a crucial role in achieving Telangana state, the Minister urged the employees to work with the same zeal in implementing welfare schemes and development programmes. Employees should take part in the mission aimed at turning Telangana into Bangaru Telangana, which is the dream of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He exhorted the employees to ensure that benefits of the welfare schemes reach the eligible. The TRS government was keen on working at grass roots, the Minister said and added that the Chief Minister, if required, would not hesitate to speak to MRO and RI level officers too on implementation of welfare schemes and development projects Claimed that the Chief Minister had special interest on development of Nalgonda district, Jagadish Reddy said KCR had announced that 6700 MW thermal power plant would be established at Damaracharla in the district, which would help in development and generate employment potential.
TNGOs Central Union President G Devi Prasad Rao alleged that some forces were trying to create confusion among employees on implementation of PRC. He was confident that the Chief Minister would do justice to employees. Thungathurthy MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Gadari KIshore, Nalgonda Distridct Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy and Joint Collector Satyanarayana also attended the meeting.
