Medak: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Friday gave a call to people to be cautious against swine flu. He appealed to people to take preventive steps to protect themselves from H1N1 influenza virus.

He convened a review meeting on swine flu at the Matha Shishu Government Hospital in Siddipet on Friday.

Harish Rao told people not to get panic about swine flu. He asked people affected by virus to get medical treatment at the Government hospital and take medicines.

“Government would arrange treatment in Hyderabad for patients, if necessary,” he said. He asked in-patients about the services being provided in the hospital. The Minister gave instructions to doctors and staff to work with devotion.

Later, Harish Rao inaugurated the main entrance of the Saibaba temple in the town and offered special prayers to the deity.

He also offered special prayers at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Pullur village in Siddipet mandal.

Speaking to the media, the Minister said the State government would develop the temple at Pullur as tourist spot.

He blamed the successive governments in united Andhra Pradesh for not allocating funds to temples in Telangana State.

“Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for the development of the Yadagirigutta temple,” he said.
