Siddipet: A Place of historic significance and religious importance, the buried mysteries of the past are there for the visitors of Anantagiri Gutta and Anantagiri Pochamma to cherish. If Pranahitha Chevella comes to becoming a reality, the place would also be turned into a water reservoir.

The temple of Anantagiri Pochamma, the village Goddess, is believed to have been there for thousands of years. People from all over Telangana region come here to visit their deity. The temple falls under Siricilla Mandal and is close to Rajiv Rahadari.

There is a strong belief among the devotees that Anantagiri Pochamma makes their wishes come true. The devotees offer sheep as offerings to the deity once their wishes are realised. It is said that whoever tried to remove her from there had met with a bad fortune, the reason why the structure made of stone is still impact.

Just beside the temple is a hill which used to be known as ‘Patnam Gutta’, now called Anthagiri Gutta. An adventurous scout can scale the hill in an hour. It seems that there used to be a city on top of the hill. On top of the hill are walls of the fort which have not been protected all these years.

The pillars and the carvings can be still found on top of the hill. There are two ponds atop the hill, where wildlife can be seen early in the morning, or just before sunset. The entire experience is a romantic rendezvous with the nature.

The legend has it that there is treasure buried in a well on the hill. Many have tried to find it, but in vain.

This entire village is dependent somewhere or the other on the resources which nature has given them. Now, with the Pranahitha Chevella works going on in that area, the villagers are going to be displaced.

Komuraiah, the Sarpanch of the village has informed us that already the assessment of government land has been done and that in a couple of weeks, the revenue officials would be surveying their lands. The locals are expecting that the entire area could become a major tourist destination once the project is completed.

So if you are a person, who has that thing for history and mystery, a visit to the heritage structures is definitely worth it.
