Flays TRS for ignoring poll promises

Karimnagar: In a press meet held at the Congress party office at the district headquarters, Karimnagar District Congress Committee president Katakam Mrithyunjayam alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samithi, forgetting the promises made to the people in the election manifesto, is targeting the Congress party activists through police department by lodging all sorts of false cases.

He said, "TRS party is extending favours to the police department by purchasing hundreds of vehicles such as Innovas, Safaris and Tata Sumos. The police department is enjoying the unexpected favours to them from the government such as the new uniform, logo, increased salaries and the like. It has come to my notice that the police staff members with new vehicles offered prayers in Kondagattu on Wednesday ignoring the problems of common people."

He also said, "We are not opposing what the government is doing for the police department. But the government is forgetting the major problems of labourers, pension to beedi workers and construction of new houses to the poor.

It is only targeting the Congress. When we were in the government, we did not lodge any false cases on anyone. Recently in Gambhiraopet, because of a false case, Hanumandlu, the husband of Snehalatha, our party member, was sent to jail for 22 days. We always stand for the people and we will continue our efforts for the sake of the people." He demanded that the TRS government should concentrate on solving the public issues and keep its promises made to the people.
