BJP backs demand for HC bifurcation, BJP National Executive member N Ramchander Rao on Wednesday denied reports that the Central government was delaying the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Hyderabad: BJP National Executive member N Ramchander Rao on Wednesday denied reports that the Central government was delaying the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Speaking to the media while participating in a dharna organised by the BJP's Lawyers Forum at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park here, Ramchander Rao, who is also a member of Bar Council, said that the issue of bifurcation needs to be resolved by the Chief Justices of Supreme Court and High Court and the Chief Ministers of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
He claimed that the Centre has written a letter to the State Government asking it to identify a separate building for the High Court. However, the Telangana Government failed to respond and therefore, the issue is still kept pending. Ramchander Rao said that if the State Government identifies a building, then the Telangana BJP unit was ready to take up the issue with the Centre to secure the required funds. He also announced support to the ongoing agitation by the Telangana Advocates JAC seeking bifurcation of High Court.
